Ingredients

  • 6 Gala apples cored
  • 3/4 cup apple juice
  • 1/3 cup dried tart cherries
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp butter softened
  • 1/2 cup pecans chopped
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Trim bottom 1/4 of apples so they sit flat.
  • Place cored apples in large slow cooker.
  • In a small bowl, combine all ingredients (except apple juice).
  • Stuff the pecan mixture into each apple.
  • Pour apple juice around apples.
  • Cover; cook on low for 4 hours or until apples are tender.
  • Serve warm with ice cream (optional).
