Peaches and Cream Oatmeal Brulee

Start your morning with this oatmeal with peaches and cream. Topped with a crunchy sugar topping.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup water
  • 1 cup Old Fashioned oats
  • 2 tbsp cream
  • 1/2 peach diced
  • 2-3 tbsp turbinado sugar

Instructions

  • Bring the water to a boil.
  • Add the oats and cook for 5 minutes, or until desired texture.
  • Remove from heat separate between two serving dishes, and mix with cream and peaches.
  • Allow to cool slightly before topping with sugar.
  • Use a kitchen torch to heat the sugar until golden and bubbly.

Notes

If you don't have a kitchen torch, you can also place the ramekins on a baking sheet and place until the broiler. Broil until the sugar is golden brown and bubbly and completely melted, about 2 minutes. Remove from the oven and let rest a few minutes before serving.
