These Spicy BBQ Shredded Chicken Sliders are perfect for game day! Rotisserie chicken with spicy BBQ sauce, provolone, and baby arugula on a fluffy roll. This blog post was sponsored by KING’S HAWAIIAN® but the opinions are all my own. #GameTimeGrilling #AD
Sophia’s school has a class pet, a stuffed animal monkey, named Max. This past weekend it was her turn to take Max home and she was so excited. Max comes with his own backpack, several changes of clothes, and a disposable camera to photograph all of his great adventures. We tried to add in some extra fun activities for the weekend, worthy of pre-school circle sharing time. We went to the local high school football game, made Saturday morning pancakes, and took a trip to HEB where Max got to ride a longhorn and pick out pumpkins!
While we were there we stocked up on some of our HEB favs- peanut butter with honey, salsa verde, and pickles- and some game day necessities. There was a Combo Loco deal for new KING’S HAWAIIAN® BBQ Sauce and I knew they would be the perfect addition to make sliders with KING’S HAWAIIAN® Sweet Dinner Rolls. I love serving sliders instead of full-size burgers/sandwiches because that way everyone can load up on all of the other yummy dips and game day eats.
We are huge fans of KING’S HAWAIIAN® Sweet Rolls; the girls love when I send them in their school lunch, and then there’s this guy, who just recently got his first taste of the deliciousness that is KING’S HAWAIIAN®…
I made myself a turkey sandwich for lunch one day and he straight up snatched it from my hands and ate the entire thing in like two minutes flat. It was hilarious, and adorable, to watch the fervor and intensity in which he ate that roll ha-ha!
Our kids aren’t the only ones who can’t get enough. These shredded chicken sliders with a big heaping of the KING’S HAWAIIAN® Big Island Lava BBQ sauce were a huge hit- perfect for adults or kids alike, and definitely great for any game day gatherings. The Big Island Lava sauce variety has just the right amount boldness of red jalapeños, spicy island flavor, and hint of sweetness. It’s that good heat that makes you come back for more with every bite, but not too spicy that your mouth is on fire. (It would be delicious on chicken wings!) I added smoky provolone and baby arugula to this sandwich, but it would also be yummy coleslaw or some type of pineapple salsa. The kids ate theirs with extra pickles. 🙂
