This Peaches and Cream Oatmeal Brûlée takes boring oatmeal to the next level with that classic, crunchy sugar topping you expect from the famous French dessert.
My Mom began an obsession with white dishes a few years ago, almost out of self-defense. She started seeing pieces from the same (discontinued) set popping up at garage sales and thrift stores over and over again. She finally decided to start picking them up anytime she saw them and basically has a full set now.
I guess I’m a few years late to the party, but all white dishes are my new favorite thing. When Revol offered to send me a few of their products, I knew exactly what I wanted from their gorgeous line of cookware, bakeware, and dinnerware.
Of course, I also had to have some classic French baking dishes from Revol. These individual creme brûlée dishes are suitable for crème brûlée of course but also for other types of dessert or small side dishes. They come with small sturdy handles for easy grip which makes it convenient to take them in and out of the oven or microwave.
I decided to use mine to jazz up my breakfast. I don’t know if it was the cute little individual serving dishes or the torched crunchy sugar topping, but this Peaches and Creme Oatmeal definitely felt extra special.
Peaches and Cream Oatmeal Brulee
- 1 3/4 cup water
- 1 cup Old Fashioned oats
- 2 tbsp cream
- 1/2 peach diced
- 2-3 tbsp turbinado sugar
- Bring the water to a boil.
- Add the oats and cook for 5 minutes, or until desired texture.
- Remove from heat separate between two serving dishes, and mix with cream and peaches.
- Allow to cool slightly before topping with sugar.
- Use a kitchen torch to heat the sugar until golden and bubbly.
