This Coffee Candied Bacon needs only three ingredients to create a sweet and savory treat. Serve alongside hearty omelets or as a topping for ice cream! This is a sponsored post in partnership with Albertsons through Kitchen PLAY. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Coffee and bacon are two of my favorite food groups and I would start every day with both if I could. I especially love a dark roast coffee (with a little sugar and splash of cream) and thick cut bacon. I decided to combine my two favorite flavors and this sweet and savory Coffee Candied Bacon was the delicious result.

Don’t be afraid of using fresh coffee grounds in this recipe. The end result will not be bitter or gritty. The brown sugar creates a wonderful molasses candied effect that is only intensified by the flavors in the coffee. Either dark brown or light brown sugar work in this case.
You do want to watch the bacon carefully and not let the sugar burn. Make sure you do a thorough job lining your baking sheet with parchment paper before baking for easy cleanup. I like my bacon extra crispy, so I tend to leave mine in for a few extra minutes. I may or may not have smoked up the house a few times after walking away and forgetting it was in there. Ooops!
This sweet and savory treat is perfect along side a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs or veggie omelets but, I have to admit, my favorite way to eat it is as a topping for ice cream! Grab a tub of Signature SELECT Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and top it with this Coffee Candied Bacon– just trust me.
